The machine boasts 20 levels of fine-tuned resistance to accommodate users of all ability levels; and an 18 inch stride length to simulate the feeling of fast running. There is also an incline setting with a ratio of 13 degrees to 35 degrees, in which users can challenge themselves with hill-style workouts. The pedals are wide, adjustable and tactile. They include comfortable straps that lock the feet into place, so that the feet never leave the pedal surface. There are five pre-installed workout options on the Precor EFX 524i Elliptical—expertly designed programs to help people get the most out of every workout. These pre-programmed workouts include a cross training program that combines running and stepping movements into a single workout; a workout regimen that trains the muscles in the gluteus region; an aerobic weight loss program; an interval training workout; and a convenient manual setting that allows users to customize their workout to their own preferences and target areas.

The large touch screen LED console on the Precor EFX 524i Elliptical, operated by just a graze of the finger, keeps track of—and monitors—a variety of fitness data and stats. This includes information like heart rate; time/time remaining; the segment time; distance; watts; METs, calories burned per minute and throughout the course of the workout; resistance; strides; and strides per minute. An integrated reading rack and water bottle holder are built into the elliptical for user convenience. And the welded, retractable wheels near the front of the machine make moving it a snap.
